Rotary Global Grant Project, Timor Leste

Implementation of RAM & Rotary Club of North Hobart Rotary Global Grant, Timor Leste. Dr. Jenny Kerrison conducted a monitoring visit to the Rotary Global Grant USD251,334 project in Timor Leste - a joint project between RAM and the Rotary Club of North Hobart. Jenny was also there to accompany the Rotary Foundation Cadre Auditor Biju Anthony from Western Australia. In Timor Leste, malaria cases dropped from 220 per 1,000 in 2006 to 0.006 per 1,000 in 2019. Imported malaria cases have also reduced. The success can be attributed to Timor Leste's National Malaria Program with major funding from the Global Fund, and technical support from the World Health Organisation (WHO).
