HOW DOES IT WORK?
In 2021, RAM Australia hosted a fun, safe and virtual event Fun Run encouraging participants to run, cycle or swim 4km on Malaria Awareness Day to represent the over 400,000 lives lost to malaria each year. This year, we will be doing something similar. RAM’s Walk in Solidarity is for 4km representing the hundreds of lives lost to malaria each year. You will be able to register on our website at www.ram.rawcs.com.au/walk-in-solidarity/ and pay the registration fee of $20.00 AUD. You will be able to ask friends to sponsor you.
RAM polo-shirts are also available for sale at $35 per shirt. Please let us know if you want one in the notes when you pay the registration fee. We encourage you to take photos for us to share on social media. We will continue to encourage members to participate in whatever way they can safely.
We want to raise $100,000 for projects in the upcoming year, so we are challenging each District to raise $5,250. Help us reach our goal!
REGISTERED?
Use our Sponsorship Form to keep track of everyone who’s supporting you.
Once you’ve registered to join the Walk in Solidarity, ask many people as you can to sponsor you. The money raised by a sponsor can either be paid to the registered participant to pay in or the sponsor can pay directly to RAM. This will take you directly to the required RAWCS/RAM Account 32-2010-11. Just follow the prompts. Download the form below.
FAQs
What if I am busy on Malaria Awareness Day, 30 April?
Malaria Awareness Day is on 30 April but you can clock your 4km throughout the month of April. Just send a photo to us and we will count your miles.
How do I collect donations?
You can ask your friends to use the donation link. If they’d like to donate in cash, you can use the donation link yourself. (Please try to keep track of your sponsors, so that we can calculate the amount raised by each Rotary District, and the total amount raised by each runner.)
Why is there a $20 registration fee?
We are trying to raise as much money as possible!
If I’m sponsoring a runner, do I need to register?
No, just go straight to the donation page here and let the runner you’re sponsoring know how much you’ve donated.
Can I get a receipt for my tax-deductible donation?
If you use the online donation page, you will automatically be sent one. If you donate to a runner in cash, please ask them for a receipt.
Does RAM have a fundraising goal?
Yes! Our goal is to raise $100,000 for projects in the upcoming year, so we are challenging each District to raise $5,250.
