Celebrating Malaria Awareness Day with a No Mosquito Picnic at a Local Winery

RAM in Southern Region celebrated Malaria Awareness Day with a No Mosquito Picnic at a local winery, generously hosted by Rotarians Ralph and Lesley Zucarro from the Rotary Club of Oakleigh Clayton Huntingdale who own Six Acres.

The sun came through after we held our breath that the torrential downpour of rain would pause for our No Mosquito Picnic, and we welcomed District 9810 Governor Dr Daryl Moran and his wife Jenny.

District 9810 Governor Dr Daryl Moran speaks briefly.

Incoming National RAM Manager Dr Bruce Anderson gave a short presentation on malaria, and funds were raised through raffle prizes and a silent auction. And of course, lots of drinking was involved, thanks to Six Acres generously donating their wine for the day.

Gloria Hargreaves, Southern Region RAM Supervisor welcomes everyone to the No Mosquito Picnic.

Many thanks to Gloria Hargreaves, the Southern Region RAM Supervisor, and the rest of the Southern Region RAM Committee for organising such a successful event to raise funds and awareness for this important cause.
