New partnership launched to accelerate the elimination of relapsing P. vivax malaria

Recently, the Partnership for Vivax Elimination (PAVE) was formed to support malaria endemic countries including Brazil, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Peru and Thailand, in their quest to eliminate Plasmodium vivax (P. vivax). This partnership is critical because more than one-third of the world’s population is at risk of contracting P. vivax and it is the most common form of malaria outside of sub-Saharan Africa.
